Peggy and Inky
Mom and Dad went to a pet store (where all the needy, sick pups are sold) and bought Inky. Aunt Kathleen went along because she knew more about animals.
He was black as ink, hence, “Inky.” He had every sickness and problem wrong with him.
The night before Peggy was born, Mom couldn’t sleep at all. Inky stayed up with her, in the living room, pacing the floor back and forth all night.
He died of hepatitis.
