Sr. Kathleen Brabson, SSJ
President, Mount Saint Joseph Academy
When I arrived at St. Mark’s High School in 1989, I had no idea how many incredible educators were there. Some were teachers, administrators, and staff. Some were students and parents. Many have impacted my life in extraordinary ways, ways in which I have been forever changed. I thank St. Mark’s for showing me a better part of who I am.
Among those incredible educators was Sister Kathleen Brabson, SSJ. She was one of the “great Ones,” a woman of profound faith and an outstanding educator. I was blessed to know her as friend, mentor and colleague.
After leaving St. Mark’s, she joined the community that she would serve and love for the rest of her life– Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Philadelphia. And The Mount loved Sister Kathleen.
As teacher, Dean, and for the past 14 years, President, Sr. Kathleen was committed to all her students, guiding them in becoming women of integrity, faith, and virtue.
She was a wonderful role model, an inspiring woman who “laced a legacy” of courage, vision, and great love.
Sister Kathleen Brabson died on January 23, 2019. She will always remain a shining star to all who were blessed by the brilliant light of her life.
